Social media, former Alabama players react to Tennessee loss, CFP chances
No. 7 Alabama dropped its second game of the season with a 24-17 loss at No. 11 Tennessee on Saturday.
The loss marks the second straight at Neyland Stadium, a first since the pre-Nick Saban years as the Alabama head coach.
The Crimson Tide (5-2, 2-2) has its work cut out for it the rest of the season. Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe struggled, connecting on 25 of 44 passes for 239 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Alabama rushed for just 89 yards compared to Tennessee’s 214.
The reaction to the game and the Tide’s College Football Playoff chances was fast and furious.
Chris Brazzell II made a diving 16-yard touchdown catch from Nico Iamaleava midway through the fourth quarter to lead the Vols.
Dylan Sampson rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns for the Volunteers (6-1, 3-1 SEC). The victory keeps Tennessee in the hunt for a College Football Playoff spot.
