Social media fishing celebs tackle Gulf Shores

An investment group paid $11.3 million for the Eastern Shore Village Center on 9 acres at the southeast corner of Greeno Road and Fairhope Avenue in Fairhope, according to Herrington Realty, which handled the transaction. The center’s tenants include Shoe Station, Big Lots, CVS, Baumhower’s Wingfingers, Rotolo’s Pizzeria and more.

Local investors led by social media fishing celebrities Mathew Isbell (Bama Beach Bum), Brant Peacher (Angler Up with Brant) and Brad Warren (Bearded Brad) have leased 5,700 square feet of space at the corner of Ala. 59 and West 1st Street in Gulf Shores, and plan to open Beach Bum Outdoors, according to Robert Cook of Vallas Realty, who handled the transaction. The group plans to open the full-service fishing tackle and retail store in late March. The space was formerly leased to a used car dealer.

HPJ Properties paid $120,000 for a 1,400 square-foot building at 29159 U.S. 98 in Daphne, adjacent to Market By The Bay. The property will be leased to the new owners of Market By The Bay and used for additional parking, storage and office/retail space, according to Harry Johnson of HPJ Properties. The current tenant, Psychic Journey, will relocate.

Kaiser Sotheby’s International Realty and Kaiser Vacation Rentals plan to relocate to 2001 W. 1st St., in  Gulf Shores this month, after selling the Kaiser building on Ala. 59 in Gulf Shores, according to Leonard Kaiser, founder and owner of the Kaiser businesses. Wealth Hospitality Inc., a resort lodging development group, bought the Kaiser building and plans to open a small upscale boutique hotel in Midtown Gulf Shores. Kaiser is well known for handling real estate sales and rentals in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach for more than 40 years.

Watch for a 10-unit multi family development to be located at 419 E. Canal Drive in Gulf Shores. The city planners recommend approval of the project which would have four buildings: two duplexes and two triplexes.
