Snow is falling in Alabama: Latest photos, videos
Following warnings of a winter storm in north Alabama on Sunday afternoon and early evening, light snow started to trickle in.
Gov. Kay Ivey issued a state of emergency for 25 counties, warning of “unusually cold temperatures” starting Sunday and throughout the upcoming week.
Winter weather advisories have also gone into effect for parts of central Alabama through Tuesday. The Alabama Department of Transportation is pretreating roads and bridges, and several schools have announced closures for Tuesday.
