Slutty Vegan in Birmingham to host free, one-day breakfast pop up on March 26

Free breakfast is coming to Slutty Vegan’s Birmingham location. Well, for a few hours, at least.

On Sunday, March 26, the restaurant (located at 5 55th Place South in Woodlawn) will offer patrons a special pop-up breakfast menu from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. while supplies last.

The menu will include takes on traditional breakfast favorites:

  • Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit – crispy, plant-based bacon strips, a folded vegan egg and melted vegan cheese served on a freshly baked vegan biscuit
  • Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit – a savory, plant-based sausage patty, a folded vegan egg and melted vegan cheese served on a freshly baked vegan biscuit
  • Egg & Cheese Biscuit – a folded vegan egg and melted vegan cheese served on a freshly baked vegan biscuit
  • Fluffy Vegan Pancakes – three freshly baked, fluffy vegan pancakes served with vegan syrup

“Slutty Vegan is all about reimagining food,” restaurant owner and entrepreneur Pink Cole said in a press release about the pop-up. “We’ve already redefined lunch and dinner food, so now we’re showing people that vegan breakfast options can be just as satisfying. We’re not usually open on Sundays, but we can’t wait to throw open the doors this weekend to start the day the Slutty way in Woodlawn!”

In addition to the breakfast pop-up, Cole will be on-site for a book signing of her recently released cookbook “Eat Plants B*tch!” a collection of 91 vegan recipes.

Released late last year, “Eat Plants, B*tch” features recipes from breakfast creations and tapas to Jamaican dishes from Cole’s childhood. Also on the rundown: hacks for vegan cooking, plant-based substitutes and complementary dips, jam, jellies, and gravy. The cookbook garnered Cole a 2023 NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Instructional Literary Work.
