A death investigation is underway after Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies discovered skeletal remains Friday afternoon north of Birmingham.

Deputies responded around 2:12 p.m. Friday to the 3500 block of Industrial Parkway on a call of a person down when the remains were found.

The remains will be examined by the Jefferson County to determine cause of death.

Anyone with information on the incident was asked to call the sheriff’s office at 205-325-1450, option 2.
