Six students were assaulted at Wetumpka High School in Elmore County Oct. 18, according to a statement released by district officials on Oct. 25.

It’s unclear what type of assaults occurred or if there were injuries. All students involved were male, according to the district.

The statement read in part, “A total of six students were identified as participating in the assaults on six other students. All evidence in the case has been subpoenaed by local law enforcement and released to them.”

“The Elmore County Board of Education central office personnel and the administration at Wetumpka High School have completed an investigation involving assaults that were reported last Wednesday.”

Officials said they couldn’t comment on possible disciplinary actions due to federal privacy laws but would follow the district’s policies and discipline codes.
