Singer of one of 2000′s biggest hits dead at 49
Seth Binzer, the lead singer and co-founder Crazy Town, has died at the age of 49.
Binzer, known as Shifty Shellshock, died Monday at a residence in L.A., according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. No cause of death was given, but a cause of death is being investigated.
Binzer’s hit 2000 song “Butterfly,” with its signature “come my lady” chorus, became an anthem of the times. The singer founded American rap rock group Crazy Town in 1995 in LA with Bret “Epic” Mazur. Other members included DJ Rick One, Mark White, Adam Bravin, Charles Lopez, and more.
The group blew up with their 2000 single “Butterfly.” The song peaked No. 1 on the US “Billboard” Hot 100 for two nonconsecutive weeks.
