The Order of Polka Dots celebrated its 74th annual Mardi Gras ball on Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Mobile Civic Center.

The theme for the tableau was “80s Ladies,” which saw the members in costumes that included Beetlejuice babes, Caddy Shack golfers, Care Bears, Fantasy Islanders and Love Boaters. The organization’s emblem, the Gypsy Queen, was a focal point of the evening, as was Queen Donna. After the queen’s promenade, guests danced to Journey 2 Mars and the Tip Tops in the main arena, as well as country rocker Bruce Smelley and Keith “The Mailman” Burns on the outer stages.
