Shots fired outside Hueytown High School as fight breaks out after Leeds basketball game
Shots were fired outside Hueytown High School Friday night.
The shooting happened after the 7:30 game between Hueytown and Leeds High School had ended.
No one was injured.
Jefferson County sheriff’s Lt. Joni Money said a deputy was working at the game at Hueytown High School.
About 9:30 p.m., someone notified the deputy that shots had been fired outside.
According to witnesses, a group of juveniles were involved in an altercation in the parking lot of the school when adult family members arrived on scene and intervened.
One of the family members fired shots in the air and fled the scene with some of the involved juveniles.
Jefferson County deputies, along with officers with officers from Hueytown Police Department, responded to the scene and dispersed the patrons.
The investigation is continuing. No one is in custody.
