A suspect is under arrest after shots were fired Wednesday evening in the Mercedes-Benz employee parking lot in Tuscaloosa County.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the parking lot at 5 p.m. on a report of a shooting.

When they arrived, they learned someone had fired multiple shots at a vehicle that had two people inside. Neither person was injured, but the vehicle sustained numerous bullet holes.

When the fight was over, the victim and another person got into the victim’s vehicle to leave. The suspect went to his vehicle in a separate parking area but then drive around to where the victims wre located.

He fired multiple shots and then fled.

Kennedy identified the suspect as 21-year-old Zachory Broom. He was taken into custody at a home in Jefferson County later Wednesday night.
