A 20-year-old woman who was shot died after a vehicle wrecked early Friday morning in Mobile and a man inside the vehicle was severely injured after he was ejected, police said Monday.

Mobile police responded to the 200 block of South Ann Street around 7:49 a.m. Friday on a traffic accident with severe injuries, said Cpl. Katrina Frazier.

Police at the scene learned a 21-year-old man was ejected from the vehicle, said Frazier.

The woman, only identified as a 20-year-old female passenger, was found with a gunshot wound inside the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was taken to a local hospital with severe injuries, Frazier said.

The incident remained under investigation Monday.
