Shootout in Birmingham’s Tom Brown Village injures 2 women who were innocent bystanders
Shots rang out in Birmingham’s Tom Brown Village public housing community, leaving two women injured.
The shooting happened shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday near 41st Street and Fifth Court North.
Police said four people got into a shootout with each other.
A woman was driving her white sedan along 41st Street North when one of the bullets struck her knee.
A second woman was sitting inside an apartment on the couch when a bullet entered the residence and struck her in the right shoulder and lodged in her back.
Both women were taken to UAB Hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
No arrests have been made.
