Shooting suspect in custody after 2-hour standoff at Tarrant home; guns, ammo seized
A man is in custody after he held law enforcement officers at bay Tuesday morning in Tarrant.
Tarrant police were dispatched about 8:20 a.m. to the 1700 block of East Lake Boulevard on a report of a shooting with a potential hostage.
Chief Wendell Major said officers, along with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, responded to the home.
The suspect, whose name has not been released pending formal charges, barricaded himself inside the residence for about two hours. He was taken into custody about 10:30 a.m.

No one was injured, Major said.
The man’s wife was inside the home, but there was no evidence she was being held against her will.
Police recovered several weapons, ammunition, a bullet-proof vest, and drug paraphernalia.
