Shooting at Tuscaloosa gas station leaves 1 dead, 1 behind bars
An overnight shooting at a Tuscaloosa gas station left one man dead and another behind bars.
Tuscaloosa police were dispatched at 11:30 p.m. Monday to a report of a shooting in the 3000 block of 20th Street. They arrived to find the victim, whose identity has not been released, dead on the scene.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit responded to lead the investigation.
Capt. Marty Sellers said interviews with witnesses and evidence collected on the scene led to the identification of 41-year-old Dennis Anderson as the shooter.
Anderson is charged with murder. He is being held without bond in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
Sellers said additional charges against Anderson and others could be filed.
Community involvement was a factor in the successful identification of Anderson, he said.
