Shannon Sharpe leaving Skip Bayless, ‘Undisputed,’ per report

Shannon Sharpe is leaving “Undisputed,” and in the process, parting ways with Skip Bayless, according to The New York Post.

Sharpe and Fox Sports have reached a buyout agreement, The Post reports, citing sources.

Sharpe’s final show is expected to be after the 2023 NBA Finals conclude in June.

The Post reports Sharpe’s podcast, “Club Shay Shay,” is also leaving Fox Sports.

In January, Sharpe returned to “Undisputed,” a day after he was a no-show, in the aftermath Bayless’ tweet about Damar Hamlin after he had to be resuscitated on national TV. In his return to the show, he got frustrated with Bayless interrupting him.

“I can’t even get through a monologue without you interrupting me,” Sharpe said.

Sharpe started the show trying to explain his absence from the show but a comment about Bayless’ controversial tweet had his co-host jumping in.

Bayless, after Hamlin had collapsed on the field, tweeted, “No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.”

Sharpe stayed home from “Undisputed” the following morning; when he returned a day later, he said that he had wished Bayless would take the tweet down, while Bayless said that he stood by it.

Sharpe has had strong opinions on a number of current events recently.

Later in the month, while attending a Grizzlies-Lakers game, Sharpe got into an altercation with the Grizzlies, including Ja Morant’s dad.

In February, Sharpe blasted Alabama’s Brandon Miller for his pregame pat-down introduction.

“I understand that he been doing this routine, but Skip (Bayless), once you become part of a murder investigation, you let that go,” Sharpe said. “It’s inappropriate; someone tragically lost their life. And to the young woman’s family, I am so sorry what transpired. It’s senseless and should not have happened.”
