Severe storms possible in Alabama next few days

Be on the lookout for strong to severe storms the next few days.

NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has added a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather for a large part of Alabama for Saturday.

A Level 1 risk means that isolated severe storms will be possible. The strongest of those could have damaging winds, lots of lightning, hail and heavy rain.

More isolated severe storms are in the forecast for Sunday and Monday as well.

Isolated severe storms will be possible across the northern half of Alabama tomorrow. Here’s the outlook for Sunday:

The northern half of Alabama could see isolated severe storms on Sunday.

The probability of severe storms will increase slightly on Sunday for parts of north Alabama. The Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a Level 2 risk for the areas in yellow below on Monday. A Level 2 risk means that scattered severe storms will be possible.

Both days the hazards are expected to be the same: damaging winds, lightning and heavy rain.

A wet and unsettled pattern will last through the upcoming week as well.
