Teams officially began practice for this upcoming season on Oct. 21, with the first slate of games to start on Thursday.

Some of the state’s top opening-night boys’ basketball games include Bob Jones at Huntsville, Hoover at Sparkman and Clay-Chalkville at Ramsay.
