Sen. Katie Britt has ‘recovered well’ after attack of facial numbness: ‘Your prayers have been felt’

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala) said today she has “recovered well and am back at it” after a bout of facial numbness that largely idled her for almost a month.

Britt spoke while riding through a sunny small Alabama town in the front passenger’s seat of what appeared to be an SUV.

“Hey, y’all, Katie Britt here,” she said. “My family and I have greatly appreciated the outpouring of well-wishes and support from across Alabama – and the nation.”

“Your prayers have been felt and I am very grateful,” Britt said, “and I’m blessed to say that I have recovered well and was back at it today. I was at home in Enterprise to talk to with the Wiregrass Republican women. We talked about my first eight months in office – I gave an update there – and then a preview about what’s to come.”

Britt thanked Alabama residents again “from the bottom of my heart” and said she hoped to see them soon.”

Britt was admitted to the Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery in the last weekend of July after she suffered sudden facial numbness while with her family.

Britt at the time said doctors “determined that my symptoms were a result of swelling of a facial nerve, most likely caused by a post-viral infection.”
