Selma man dies in two-vehicle crash Saturday night
A Selma man was killed Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash in Dallas County.
Sgt. Jeremy Burkett of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the incident happened at about 6:45 p.m., on U.S. 80 near the 96 mile marker, about 10 miles east of Selma.
Roosevelt Sigler, 69, was driving a 1997 Jeep Cherokee, which was struck by a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Joe N. Smith III, 37, of Demopolis.
Sigler was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, Burkett said.
Joe N. Smith III and Valerie Smith, 42, also of Demopolis, who was a passenger in the Ram, were not using seat belts at the time of the crash. Both were injured and transported to Vaughn Regional Medical Center in Selma for treatment.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
