See who ranked Alabama football No. 1 in nation before 2025 season

After Alabama football missed the College Football Playoff last season, at least one college football institution is putting the Crimson Tide back on top. Ahead of its July 10 release date, UA is the No. 1 ranked team in EA Sports’ College Football 26 video game, the company revealed on Friday.

UA is rated as an 89 overall in the game. That placed the Tide one spot ahead of Texas, which EA Sports ranked as the best of the seven teams rated 88 overall.

Defending national champion Ohio State is ranked No. 3 overall, followed by Penn State, with Notre Dame rounding out the top five.

At No. 6, Georgia is the third highest-ranked SEC team. Texas A&M checked in at No. 8, one spot behind Clemson, and just ahead of Oregon and LSU.

Other SEC teams listed in the video game’s top 25 included Florida at No. 12, Ole Miss at No. 16, Oklahoma at No. 17, Tennessee at No. 20, Missouri at No. 21 and Auburn at No. 22. South Carolina, sitting 24th, was the lowest ranked SEC squad to make the cut.

The Crimson Tide’s high-rating won’t be the only sign of UA in CFB 26. Sophomore wide receiver Ryan Williams will appear on the game’s cover, alongside Jeremiah Smith of Ohio State.

Alabama was also rated as an 89 on offense for the game, but EA Sports placed the Crimson Tide seventh nationally in that category. Texas was the top-ranked offense, with a 91 rating.

The developers of the game were especially high on Alabama’s defense, going into Kane Wommack’s second season as defensive coordinator. The Crimson Tide’s group is rated as the best in the game, one spot ahead of the Longhorns.

EA Sports College Football 26 will be released July 10 for Xbox Series and Playstation 5.
