See updates from Monday AHSAA softball state championship tournament
The AHSAA softball state championship tournament begins play Monday with two classes at Oxford’s Choccolocco Park.
Class 7A starts first round action at 9 a.m. with Class 4A beginning at 10:45.

Each eight-team class is set up the same with The No. 1 qualifier from each of four regionals playing the No. 2 qualifier of a designated regional.
South No. 1 qualifier plays North No. 2 qualifier, East No. 1 plays Central No. 2, North No. 1 plays South No. 2 and Central No. 1 plays East No. 2.
The first day of each class features teams playing through the winners bracket final and two rounds of eliminations – three games total for teams that win – in the double-elimination tournament.
One team in each class will win to the the championship game at the end of the first day of play, awaiting an opponent winning through the elimination bracket to earn a spot in the title game at Signature Stadium on the second day of play.

CLASS 4A

South 1 Orange Beach vs. North 2 Curry
East 1 Cherokee County vs. Central 2 Prattville Christian
North 1 Brooks vs. South 2 Houston Academy
Central 1 Northside vs. East 2 Madison County
