The AHSAA softball state championship tournament begins on Monday at Oxford’s Choccolocco Park.

Class 7A starts on four fields at 9 a.m. with first round games while Class 4A begins at 10:45.

Play in the double-elimination tournament is the same for each class with teams playing a maximum of three games on the first day. Teams winning three straight in the winners bracket move to the class championship, scheduled for the following day at Signature Field, and await an elimination bracket opponent.

Class 6A and Class 1A begin on Tuesday, Class 5A on Wednesday and Class 2A and Class 3A on Thursday.
