See the top contributors to Huntsville’s municipal races

A Huntsville-based pro-business political action committee led contributors to the city’s municipal election races in early August with a $10,000 donation to a candidate for the open north Huntsville school board seat.

Overall, PAC spending accounted for 82% of the $18,718.53 in contributions during the first full week of the month, according to a Huntsville Times analysis of weekly campaign filings to the Alabama Secretary of State’s office.

BizPac, the nonpartisan political action committee of the Huntsville Committee of 100, contributed the $10,000 to Chaundra Jones, a Huntsville social worker, volunteer and former president of Huntsville Council PTAs. Jones is running for the board of education District 1 seat currently held by Michelle Watkins, who is running for city council.
