The field for girls AHSAA basketball regional tournaments is almost completed — still a few Saturday games to be played — after Friday’s sub-regional games in Class 6A-1A.

Each area tournament winner hosted a predetermined runner-up in sub-regional play with winners advancing to regionals at one of four sites: Northwest at Wallace-Hanceville, Central at Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, Northeast at Jacksonville State and South at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery.

The top two teams from Class 7A area tournaments advanced straight to regional semifinals.

Regional winners in each class advance to the state championship tournament Feb. 26-March 2 at BJCC Legacy Arena in Birmingham.
