SeaWorld Orlando is opening world’s first ‘surf coaster’ this summer

In May, SeaWorld Orlando will open Pipeline, which the park calls a ‘first-of-its-kind surf coaster.’

Passengers will rush 110 feet up and around the track as if they are actually standing and surfing tall waves, thanks to a new style of seats, according to the park. Top speeds will hit 60 miles per hour.

Park officials also promise that at some point in the ride, passengers will “hang loose” as the seats rise and fall, mimicking the actual movement of a wave.

The new addition means the park will have seven roller coasters in total.
