Search underway for 40-year-old Birmingham woman believed kidnapped, seriously injured
Authorities have released the name of a woman they believe was kidnapped and in extreme danger following an early-morning crash in Birmingham near Elmwood Cemetery.
Nakita Chantryce Davidson, 40, is missing, and police have said they found evidence of an assault at the wreck site near Elmwood Cemetery.
Davidson was seen at 1;45 a.m. Thursday at Sixth Avenue S.W. and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
Police earlier released a photo of a pink Nike sneaker, and that photo helped to identify her.
Davidson’s vehicle – a 2008 burgundy Saturn Outlook – was driven away from the scene.
“We believe she was seriously injured and kidnapped,’’ said Sgt. LaQuitta Wade.
Davidson is 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. She was wearing a long pink dress, a jacket and the pink Nike shoes.
A suspect description has not been released.
