Authorities are searching for a 13-year-old boy missing since Tuesday night.

Jason Gonzalez is believed to be a runaway, however family told Jefferson County sheriff’s investigators it is unlike the boy to disappear.

Jason was last seen about 10 p.m. Tuesday in Quinton. He may be traveling with a backpack.

An active search was underway Wednesday, including Star 1 helicopter.

Jason has red hair and blue eyes. He is 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs 135 pounds.
