Scottsboro man indicted for rape, sexual abuse of minor
A Scottsboro man has been indicted after a five-month investigation into an alleged sexual assault involving a minor.
Scottsboro police say Johasaphat Lsean Staten Ellison, 29, has been charged with second degree rape, second degree sexual abuse and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Investigators received a report back in May, Scottsboro police said.
According to court documents, Ellison is accused of sexual contact with a minor between the ages of 12 and 16. He was arrested on a grand jury indictment.
Ellison is being held in the Jackson County Jail on $30,000 bond.
