Saturday’s Takeaways: Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes were Prime for the picking

This is an opinion piece.

Prime Time knows how to make a splash, whether it was his playing days or his coaching days. Deion Sanders made quite the FBS splash Saturday guiding Colorado, as a 20-point underdog, to a win against No. 17 Texas Christian.

Never one to bite his tongue, Sanders used a portion of the postgame news conference to go after a certain media member after his son, Shedeur Sanders, threw for a record 500-plus yards.

“Shedeur Sanders? The one that came from a HBCU? The one that you asked my why would I give him the starting job,” the elder Sanders said. ” … I got receipts. I know who they are.”

In all honesty, I thought him being a 20-point underdog against a TCU team that was a shell of its national-title-game self was free money. Did I think they’d win? Nope.

Could they? Yeah. Would they? No.
