San Diego State trolls Alabama after beating No. 1 Tide in NCAA Sweet 16
San Diego State’s social media department didn’t waste any time in the aftermath of the Aztec’s 71-64 win over No. 1 Alabama in the Sweet 16 on Friday night.
The Aztecs trolled the Crimson Tide and its fans after bouncing the top seed from the NCAA tournament.
“We Want Bama?” San Diego State tweeted. “No, we got Bama and beat Bama.”
Darrion Trammell and San Diego State used a dominant defensive performance – especially around the rim – to knock Alabama off.
Trammell scored 21 points while Alabama’s Brandon Miller was held to nine points on 3-of-19 shooting and had six turnovers.

The fifth-seeded Aztecs (30-6) will face either Creighton or Princeton on Sunday in the West Region final as they seek their first Final Four in program history. With Alabama’s loss, there is no No. 1 seed left in the tournament. Fellow No. 1 seeds Purdue and Kansas lost during the tournament’s first weekend, and Houston fell to Miami on Friday night.
