Samford will continue its baseball season in the Auburn Regional.

The Bulldogs (36-23) will be the No. 3 seed in the regional, hosted by the Auburn Tigers. Samford meets No. 2 Southern Miss (41-17) in a first-round matchup Friday.

No. 1 Auburn (34-21-1) meets No. 4 Penn (32-14) in the other first-round game on Friday. The regional is double-elimination, with the winner advancing to best-of-3 the Super Regional round.

Samford earned the Southern Conference’s automatic bid for the NCAA tournament after winning three games on Saturday to take the tournament title. The Bulldogs previously played in NCAA Regionals in Tallahassee, Fla., in 2012 and 2017, and in Starkville, Miss., in 2021, but have never advanced to the Super Regional round.
