Saints accidentally use Mark Ingramâs picture in program: âAll they gotta do is call,â RB says
Mark Ingram isn’t playing for the New Orleans Saints, despite his picture appearing in the program, which was floating around social media Tuesday.
The former Alabama star and Heisman Trophy winner has traded his helmet and shoulder pads for a microphone. Fox Sports announced last month Ingram will join its college football coverage.
That makes the mix-up in the program all the more curious. Ingram’s mug shot appears where receiver Lynn Bowden Jr. is supposed to be.
Still, Ingram appears to be open to the idea of returning to New Orleans, if the Saints, will have him, of course.
“All they gotta do is call,” he posted on social media. “They know my cell.”
He even joked he would be down with a number change to No. 84.
Ingram, a former Heisman Trophy winner, will appear on “Big Noon Kickoff” this fall along with Matt Leinart, Urban Meyer, Brady Quinn and Rob Stone. Ingram will replace former New Orleans Saints running back and USC star Reggie Bush on the telecast.
A first-round pick to the Saints in 2011, Ingram enjoyed a 12-season NFL career, totaling 8,111 rushing yards, 2,125 yards receiving, and 75 total touchdowns. Ingram would be named to three Pro Bowls and is the Saints all-time leader in rushing yardage and touchdowns.
At Alabama, he rushed for 3,261 yards and scored 46 touchdowns in three years. His 1,658 yards and 17 scores on the ground in 2009 earned him the Heisman Trophy. Ingram earned MVP honors in the BCS title game as Alabama beat Texas to win its 13th national title.
