Alabama football’s offensive line is going to be key Saturday against LSU. The Tiger offense is one of the nation’s best, and the Crimson Tide might have its work cut out to keep pace.

The group has struggled throughout the season, with quarterback Jalen Milroe finding himself under duress frequently. True freshman left tackle Kadyn Proctor has certainly taken his fair share of criticism.

On Monday, Saban was asked about Proctor’s progress.

“Kadyn Proctor’s getting better and I think he’s gaining experience and learning,” Saban said. “What we want him to do is not worry so much about making a mistake that he’s not playing aggressively, and that’s what we’ve been working on with him. I think he’s getting better and he’s getting more confident.”

Proctor came to Alabama as a five-star prospect in the class of 2023. According to Pro Football Focus’ premium stats, he has allowed nine sacks so far this season.

Two of those came against Tennessee. Proctor did register his best PFF run-blocking grade of the season against the Volunteers, a 78.0.

Saban remained positive about his performance against Tennessee, a game the Crimson Tide won 34-20.

“I thought he played fairly well,” Saban said. “He had a play or two that I’m sure he’d tell you and I’d tell you and his coach would tell you, that we didn’t execute exactly correctly. But those plays are getting fewer and fewer and the good plays are getting greater and greater.”

Alabama and LSU are scheduled to kick off at 6:45 p.m. Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game will be aired on CBS.
