Rick Neuheisel on Alabama-Texas A&M: ‘I’m gonna go back to the Church of Saban’

Rick Neuheisel has found religion – sort of – when breaking down Saturday’s Alabama-Texas A&M matchup in College Station.

The CBS analyst and former coach has been nothing short of impressed with both Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher for overcoming early-season issues with their teams.

“In the early portion of this season, I credit both of these coaching staffs for fixing problems,” Neuheisel said. “It was woeful defensively for A&M at Miami. They gave up 48. Their tackling was abysmal. They seemingly have fixed that in their two SEC wins since that time.”

For the Tide, it was the “terrible” offense.

“Alabama look terrible offensively at South Florida and in the first half against Ole Miss, but they seemingly have fixed that,” Neuheisel said. “(Jalen) Milroe only had to throw 12 passes. He hit 10 of them against Mississippi State.”

At the end of the day, he says, he bows to Saban.

“I’m gonna go back to the Church of Saban, deliver my tithe, and take Alabama in this one, but I’m tipping my cap to both coaches,” Neuheisel said.
