A reward is being offered for information in the summer slaying of a 27-year-old Montgomery man.

Fernando Edwards showed up with a gunshot wound at Montgomery hospital just before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 23. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police have not released any of the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting, but said it happened in the 600 block of North Pass Road.

No arrests have been made, and police are asking for the public’s help.

Edwards left behind four young children.

According to his obituary, he loved basketball, his PS5 and was pursuing a music career.

“Fernando had a smile that would light up any room,’’ the obituary read. “His smile genuinely complemented his character. More than anything; he loved his family and was a loving father.”

Central Alabama Crime Stoppers on Wednesday announced a $1,000 reward for information leading to the identity of shooter. Tipsters can remain anonymous.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 334-215-STOP (7867) or 1-833-AL1-STOP.
