Report of shooting on Alabama A&M campus leaves one person injured

One person was injured in a shooting Monday on the campus of Alabama A&M University near Huntsville.

The university only referred to the incident as a “developing public safety emergency” near the Knight Center, but WAFF reported that a shooting occurred that injured one victim.

Alabama A&M’s marketing office would not confirm a shooting to AL.com, and Don Webster of Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc., who told WAFF that one person was injured in the shooting, could not immediately be reached for comment.

The shooting is believed to be an isolated incident, WAFF reported.

Alabama A&M urged everyone to stay clear of the Knight Complex “until further notice.”
