Report: Jim Harbaugh hires agent Don Yee amid NFL interest before Rose Bowl

A busy Rose Bowl media week had another domino fall late Saturday night on the West Coast. Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh has hired agent Don Yee, according to a report from NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.

Yee is a well-renowned agent who represents Tom Brady and Sean Payton, among other prominent pro figures. Yee’s agency, Yee & Dubin Sports, is based in Pasadena, Calif., according to its website. Harbaugh and the Wolverines will play in the city’s famed Rose Bowl Game on New Year’s Day against Alabama.

Earlier on Saturday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said on Sportscenter the Los Angeles Chargers “put out feelers and done preliminary work” on Harbaugh. The Chargers fired Brandon Staley on Dec. 15.

No. 1 Michigan practiced in LAC’s home Sofi Stadium in Inglewood, a change from the team’s prior setting at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson. The reason for the switch was morning rain, per MLive. Alabama’s practice, later in the afternoon, was kept in Carson.

“One-track mind, that’s the way we’ve gone about things. Literally, whatever day we’re in, we’re going to get the most out of it, dominate the day,” Harbaugh said when asked about the rumors on Wednesday at the week’s opening press event at Disneyland.

Harbaugh went 44-19-1 in four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. He reached three NFC Championship games and made a trip to Super Bowl XLVII in 2012 when he lost to his brother John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens.

Throughout press conferences, multiple Michigan players, including starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy, have said there’s been little discussion about Harbaugh’s future within the team. The Wolverines are instead focused on avenging two straight years of College Football Playoff semifinal defeats.

Harbaugh and Alabama head coach Nick Saban will meet with reporters tomorrow for the final pregame press conference ahead of kickoff.
