Walmart’s newly renovated Supercenter in Hazel Green will hold a grand opening Friday at 7:30 a.m.

The event will also feature the unveiling of a community-inspired mural by Huntsville artist Lexie Austin.

Among improvements to the store are new signage, fixtures, lighting and flooring; remodeled bathrooms and a refreshed mother’s room. There is also a new vision center, more checkout and self-checkout lanes.

The store also features corner displays and digital touchpoints to allow customers to find out more about products through QR codes.

Austin’s mural depicts Hazel Green’s history, showing farms and orchards she visited growing up.

Walmart has reopened several Alabama stores over the last year after remodels, in Hoover, Huntsville and Fairhope.
