Reigning Alabama Mr. Basketball Labaron Philon commits to Kansas

Former Auburn commit and reigning Alabama Mr. Basketball Labaron Philon committed to national power Kansas on Monday night.

The 6-foot-4 combo guard chose the Jayhawks over Alabama, Ole Miss and Cincinnati. Philon confirmed his decision to AL.com.

He originally committed to Bruce Pearl and Auburn before decommitting when Wes Flanigan left the Tigers staff to join the Ole Miss staff.

Philon, who transferred from Baker High in Mobile to Link Academy in Missouri this summer, visited Kansas over the weekend.

As a junior at Baker, he averaged 35 points, six rebounds and four assists per game and finished the season with 1,075 points. He has scored 2,334 points during his high school career.

Philon is the No. 27 senior recruit in the nation and the No. 3 player at his position, according to 247 sports.
