Recruiting update: South Alabama adds 2 more local commitments
South Alabama notched its second commitment from longtime NFL QB Philip Rivers’ high school team in less than a week Sunday morning.
St. Michael Catholic senior running back Noah Moss committed to the Jaguars, announcing his decision on social media. Earlier this week, wide receiver teammate Brody Jones committed to Major Applewhite’s team.
Moss and Jones were part of St. Michael’s Class 4A semifinal team a year ago.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Moss rushed for 1,805 yards and 32 touchdowns on 252 carries for the Cardinals, averaging 7.2 yards per carry and 150 yards per game.
He also caught 44 passes for 530 yards and 3 touchdowns. AL.com named the Class 4A second-team All-State selection its Newcomer of the Year.
Moss and Jones helped the Rivers-coached team go 12-2 and average 38.4 points a game. Both of the Cardinals’ losses came at the hands of Class 4A champ Jackson.
South Alabama also received another local commitment this weekend from Mary G. Montgomery’s Trakarris Collier.
The 6-1, 180-pound senior DB also had offers from North Alabama, Tuskegee, Samford and more.

Williamson’s Jermaine McCree is scheduled to announce his commitment at 3 p.m. Monday.
The 5-11, 160-pound 3-star DB has offers from Arkansas, Texas A&M, Florida State, UAB and more.
OFFERS
Central-Phenix City’s Donovan Crow added an Austin Peay offer.
The 6-foot, 205-pound 3-star senior recruit also has offers from Minnesota, Navy and Eastern Kentucky.
Carter Davis of Gulf Shores picked up four SEC offers over the past few days with Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Arkansas pursuing the 6-foot, 165-pound junior WR.
James Clemens ATH Jocq Dennis announced an offer from Austin Peay to go along with offers from North Alabama and others for the 6-1, 200-pound senior.
Benjamin Russell 4-star recruit Kaleb Spivey announced an offer from Florida.
The 6-2, 220-pound junior DL also has SEC offers from Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt along with Oregon, USC and more.
Fort Payne 2026 kicker Hayden Chambers receives an offer from Mississippi State.
