Recruiting update: SEC, Pac-12 pick up pair of star state football recruits
A pair of state recruits committed on Saturday, one choosing the SEC while the other will play in the Pac-12.
Clay-Chalkville’s Jac’Qwan McRoy announced on 247Sports that he will play for Oregon while Valley’s Cam Dooly committed to Missouri.
McRoy committed to Oregon after narrowing his list to the Ducks, Arkansas, Kentucky and Ole Miss.
The 6-foot-8, 365-pound McRoy is a senior 4-star recruit who has more than 20 offers.
“The facility the weather, I love the cold,” McRoy said during the announcement. “It’s a good young coaching staff.”
McRoy is the state’s No. 11 senior recruit, according to 247Sports and No. 55 among ESPN300 seniors in the nation.
Dooley is a 6-4, 195-pound 3-star ATH who chose the Tigers over offers from Arkansas, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, UAB, Jacksonville State, Tulane and more.
As quarterback for the Rams last season, Dooley completed 43-of-93 passes for 721 yards and eight touchdowns, running for 377 yards and six more scores.
