President Joe Biden says he plans on running for reelection in 2024
President Joe Biden said he plans on running for reelection in 2024 but isn’t yet ready to make an official announcement.
Speaking to NBC’s Al Roker for a “Today Show” segment about the annual White House Easter egg roll, Biden was asked is he plans on hosting more of the events in the future.
“I plan on at least three or four more Easter egg rolls. Maybe five. Maybe six, what the hell? I don’t know,” Biden said as he laughed.

“Are you saying that you will be taking part in our upcoming election in 2024?” Roker prodded. “Help a brother out. Make some news for me.”
“I plan on running, Al, but we’re not prepared to announce it yet,” Biden responded.
Biden, 80, is the oldest sitting U.S. president. Should he run for re-election in 2024 and win, he would be 86 at the end of his second term.
Last week, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., 69, son of the late U.S. Attorney General and New York Senator Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy, filed paperwork to seek the Democratic nomination for president.
On the Republican side, former President Donald Trump 76, has announced plans to run, as have former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley, 51 as have former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, 72. Florida governor Ron DeSantis, 44, and former Vice President Mike Pence, 63, are considered likely candidates as well.
