Preserving Barin Field’s legacy: Alabama city envisions Naval aviation museum
It’s been almost 70 years since Glen Moore was discharged from the Navy and left Barin Field, a small Naval outlying field east of the Foley Beach Express.
But the memories about his time at NOLF Barin have not faded for the 94-year-old Summerdale man who, on Monday, perused the city’s new exhibit inside the Foley Railroad Museum honoring the city’s World War II heritage focused on the old training base for Naval aviators.
