Popular Trussville Chinese restaurant closing after nearly 25 years seeks new location

A Chinese restaurant that has been serving customers for nearly 25 years is closing its doors this week.

But the owners of Trussville’s Palace Chinese Restaurant say they hope to reopen.

The restaurant, located at 5899 Trussville Crossings Pkwy., will close Wednesday, according to its Facebook page. Palace Chinese Restaurant first opened on Friday, July 7, 2000.

“We are so grateful for the tremendous support you’ve shown us over the years — your kindness, loyalty, and love have meant the world to our family,” the restaurant’s owners announced. “While we don’t have a new location yet, we are continuing to look and hope to reopen in the future.”

On social media, long-time customers shared memories of birthday meals, celebrations and years of service at the eatery.

Susanna K. Nabors said she and her family had been going to the restaurant on Sunday after church since her childhood.

“My family was always greeted with a smile, fast service and the best quality food,” Nabors said. “Going as a kid, and being able to bring my son to my favorite place has been such a surreal experience. Thank you for all the good memories you have brought my family and I. Praying blessings over everyone and we are excited to see where you will be next!! Save us a table.”

Nora Ennis said she has four children who had “grown up with you guys.” Sharon Adkins Goodwin wrote there were “no words that can express how much you have been a huge part of our lives over the years.”

“We started there with our twins when you first opened. They grew up there and we have grown older coming there. We have celebrated many occasions at the Palace sharing with family and friends along the way,” Goodwin said.
