Popular steakhouse closing at Disney World

A popular steakhouse at DisneyWorld is closing.

Shula’s Steakhouse at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort will be replaced by Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina. Shula’s, named for legendary NFL coach Don Shula, opened at the Disney World Dolphin in 1999, according to WDW News Today. Shula’s will continue to take reservations through June 14.

Mina, a James Beard Award-Winning chef, currently has two other restaurant locations in Florida, one in Miami and another in Delray Beach, as well as other properties around the country.

In a statement to WDW Today, Mina said the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is “an ideal location” for Bourbon Steak.

“We see it as an ideal partnership and look forward to spending time with the local team to realize this dynamic new project. Each Bourbon Steak is uniquely designed to represent the environment it is in, and I’m excited to unveil what we have in store for Orlando,” Mina said.

Shula’s Steak House has other locations in Chicago, Gainesville and Naples, Florida and Richmond, Virginia.
