“Floribama Shore” alum Kirk Medas has died, according to reports by People and TMZ.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Kirk Medas, a beloved member of the ‘Floribama Shore’ family. Our hearts go out to his family, friends and fans during this difficult time,” an MTV spokesperson said in a statement to People magazine on Friday.

Castmates shared about Medas’ health problems on Instagram, saying he had been in the hospital for two weeks. They said Medas, 33, had been diagnosed with a severe case of necrotizing pancreatitis and placed on a ventilator.

Nilsa Prowant asked for prayers and support from fans and shared a link to a GoFundMe Medas’ family established, which has raised over $27,000 so far. The title of the fundraiser was recently changed to “Support Kirk Medas: Funeral Arrangement & Medical.”

The GoFundMe description said donations would be used for medical bills. It said he had no medical insurance.

Medas was in 25 episodes of the MTV show from 2017 until 2020.
