Popular local hot spot sells for mega bucks in Orange Beach

Sam’s Bait & Tackle store and service station at 27122 Canal Road in Orange Beach has been purchased by a local businessman for $7.6 million and the popular store will remain operating as Sam’s, according to Ken Crabtree of Signature Properties, who handled both sides of the sales transaction. The one-stop shop was established in 1978 and carries a boatload of items  including clothing, shoes, fishing and boating supplies, breakfast and sandwiches.

Almost 17 acres at the corner of Fern Avenue and Ala. 59 in Foley was purchased by an investor for $1.725 million, according to Amanda Goldman of Stirling, who represented the sellers. The buyer plans to develop a gas station and convenience store on part of the property.

Safe Hands Phlebotomy has leased 2,262 square feet of office space at 4312 Downtowner Loop N. in Mobile, according to Steadman Bethea of Stirling, who handled the transaction.

Developers are seeking site plan review approval to develop Harbor Club condominiums on 22.3 acres at the south end of Griffith Marina Road in Orange Beach, according to city planning. The project would feature three, four-story buildings with a total of 71 units.

Roscoe Road Townhomes developers are seeking approval to build nine buildings on 10.4 acres on the west side of Roscoe Road just north of the Foley Beach Express in Orange Beach. The project would have 56 townhome units.
