Popular Cajun-themed sports bar opens second Huntsville area location

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux continues to expand its footprint in Alabama.

The popular Cajun-themed sports bar and grille opened its second restaurant in the Huntsville area with the opening of its location in Town Madison on Monday.

The new restaurant is located at 121 Outfield Drive with a staff of about 100 people.

“Walk-On’s choosing Madison is a strong reflection of the momentum we’re seeing in economic development throughout our city,” Madison Mayor Paul Finley said in a news release. “As a brand that values community, connection, and experience, they’re a perfect fit for our ‘Plant Your Roots’ vision—where families, businesses, and opportunity grow together. We’re proud to welcome Walk-On’s to Town Madison and excited for the energy they’ll bring to our vibrant local culture.”

The restaurant features indoor/outdoor seating for more than 200 guests, a state-of-the-art sports bar, over 50 big-screen TVs, a large outdoor patio area, and an atmosphere that caters to both sports fans and families. It features dishes such as Cajundillas, Boudin Balls and Alligator Bites, along with salads, burgers, cocktails, and beers.

Grand opening event

The restaurant will host its official Grand Opening Ceremony on Monday, June 2, with a special guest appearance from its neighboring Class AA Southern League baseball team, the Rocket City Trash Pandas, who play their games just up Town Madison Boulevard at Toyota Field. The event will also feature a “Free Walk-On’s For A Year” giveaway, and various donations to local charities and youth teams.

“We’re thrilled to expand our brand in Alabama and celebrate this opening,” said Chris Porcelli, Walk-On’s Chief Executive Officer. “Bringing Walk-On’s to a new city is something we’re always proud of, and pairing our high-energy, sports-centric environment with incredible cuisine creates a dining experience unlike any other. We look forward to establishing ourselves in Town Madison and becoming the restaurant of choice for families and sports enthusiasts alike.”

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, named ESPN’s #1 Sports Bar in America, offers scratch-made Louisiana-inspired dishes. Founded in 2003 in Baton Rouge by LSU Basketball walk-ons Brandon Landry and Jack Warner, it has expanded to nearly 80 locations nationwide. Partners include co-owner Drew Brees, famed football players Dak Prescott and Derrick Brooks, and college football coach Dabo Swinney.

The Town Madison restaurant is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Walk-Ons opened its first area restaurant last year at 8368 U.S. 72 West at Clift Farm just outside of Madison.
