Popular burger chain closing 15 restaurants
Red Robin plans to close 15 restaurants this year.
Earlier this year, the burger chain’s company’s CEO G.J. Hart said the company is evaluating about 70 underperforming locations.
According to a press release from the company, the burger chain has already closed six of its company-owned restaurants in the first quarter and one franchise location. Now, the company plans to close down eight more company-owned spots in 2025.
“We are pleased with our strong start to the year as we delivered increases in both sales and profits during the first quarter. We have made significant investments in food quality and hospitality over the past two and a half years, and the operational foundation of Red Robin is strong,” said David Pace, Red Robin’s President and Chief Executive Officer, in the same release. ” Nevertheless, we are far from claiming victory. There is still more work to be done as we continue the comeback journey of this beloved brand and capture the significant opportunity in front of us.”
Other burger chain closings: EVOS Feel Great Food
Earlier this year, beloved Florida-based burger chain EVOS Feel Great Food abruptly shuttered its remaining locations.
The chain suddenly shuttered its last three locations in Carrollwood, St. Petersburg, and South Tampa.
EVOS specialized in air-baked food, a standout among fast-casual burger restaurants that prepare dishes using deep fryers, gas grills, and oil, reports the Daily Meal. In addition to burgers, EVOS was also known for its gourmet wraps, hand-tossed salads, and nutrition bowls, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
