Police investigating fatal south Alabama shooting

Mobile police are investigating a Friday afternoon shooting that left one man dead.

On Friday, at approximately 2:46 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Earle Street in reference to a shooting, according to a recent release.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound.

He was transported to a hospital and later died from his injuries.

This remains an active investigation, and no further information will be released at this time, police said Friday.

The victim’s name will be released once his family has been notified, they added.
